Want to see the world's biggest mountain? The Everest base camp trek is a famous walk in Nepal. It takes you super close to Mount Everest. Lots of people dream of doing this. It’s a real adventure!
You will walk for about two weeks. You pass small villages where Sherpa people live. Sherpas are strong and very kind. They often guide walkers and help carry things. They will smile and say "Namaste," which means hello. You will see yaks. Yaks are like big, hairy cows. You will cross high, swinging bridges. Colorful prayer flags flutter in the wind.
As you go higher, the air gets thinner. But the views are like a dream! You see giant mountains. They are covered in snow all around you. Reaching Everest Base Camp is a big moment. You are right there, near the foot of the giant Mount Everest! You also fly in a small plane to an airport called Lukla. It’s one of the most exciting airports in the world!
Mount Everest is so, so tall! It is 8,848.86 meters (that’s like 29,031 big rulers stacked up!). This official height comes from Nepal and China. Many people do this walk. Nepal's travel office, the Nepal Tourism Board, said a lot of people came. When you visit, you help the Sherpa families who live there.
This walk needs good energy. But it is a trip you will always remember. You see things that make your jaw drop. You feel proud. It’s a journey that can make you feel very happy and strong.
